Senior Analyst, Advanced Analytics at Liberty Mutual Insurance

The NA Majors Casualty team at Liberty Mutual Insurance is seeking a Senior Analyst to support one of their largest customers. In this pivotal role, you will contribute to profit, growth, and operational objectives for the account through pricing strategies, performance evaluation and monitoring, support for internal stakeholders, and providing consultative expertise to the customer.

You will be instrumental in building deep knowledge and expertise of the account, enabling meaningful analyses of loss drivers, the impact of business strategies, operational changes, and macro-economic effects. A key aspect of this role is also driving efficiency and continuous improvement in analytical tools and processes. The ideal candidate will demonstrate strong technical, analytical, and communication skills, coupled with a proven ability to execute thoroughly within a collaborative environment.

Responsibilities

  • Lead monthly reporting and external data submissions for key accounts.
  • Work closely with the account team, offering data, monitoring, and analytics support aligned with profitability and growth goals.
  • Perform comprehensive analyses to inform business decision-making and strategy development.
  • Maintain and enhance the existing loss monitoring Power BI dashboard.
  • Collaborate with Data Solutions and the NA Data Office to integrate new data solutions, streamline/automate processes, and optimize dashboards.
  • Provide clear and concise communication of complex technical work to diverse audiences.
  • Drive continuous improvement of analytical processes and methodologies.
  • Proactively identify and develop training opportunities, creating and delivering relevant content.
  • Maintain clear and concise documentation of methods and activities.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mathematics, Economics, Statistics, or another quantitative field is preferred.
  • A minimum of 3 years, typically 4 or more years of relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of education and experience, is required.
  • Advanced knowledge of data sources, analytical tools, statistical principles and methodologies, and quantitative techniques.
  • Advanced proficiency in Excel (including VBA, macros, scripts, formulas, and data visualization), PowerPoint, and statistical software packages such as SAS.
  • Power BI experience is strongly preferred.
  • Must possess excellent planning, analytical, decision-making, and communication skills.
  • Solid understanding of business principles to improve business outcomes.
