About the Department Store Manager Role
As a Department Store Manager for Empoli Outlet in Peristeri, you will be crucial in overseeing the smooth operation and growth of our corners within the outlet. This role emphasizes delivering an exceptional customer experience, achieving commercial targets, and ensuring efficient daily store performance. Furthermore, you will contribute to the strategic development of Empoli Outlet, supporting its commercial direction and enhancing both sales and visitor traffic.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Experience & Team Development
- Ensure the delivery of high-quality customer service in line with company standards.
- Oversee the induction and onboarding of new team members, providing continuous training on customer service, sales, back-office, and cash operations.
- Guide, support, and motivate the team through daily coaching, active feedback, and motivation initiatives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with VIC (Very Important Customers) clients.
- Handle customer complaints and special cases promptly and effectively.
- Support opening/closing procedures as a key holder when necessary.
- People Coordination
- Collaborate with HR and Commercial teams on staffing and personnel allocation across corners.
- Prepare weekly work schedules and ensure adequate staffing coverage.
- Monitor sales targets and KPIs (UPT, CONV, ATV) per corner; analyze performance and propose improvement actions.
- Support Visual Merchandising teams at each corner to ensure brand consistency.
- Ensure compliance with company procedures, working hours, and grooming standards.
- Operations & Store Management
- Coordinate external partners such as security, cleaning services, and technical teams.
- Monitor and resolve technical issues in collaboration with third parties.
- Oversee the smooth operation of warehouse and logistics processes.
- Supervise cash handling, bank deposits, and back-office procedures.
- Monitor the execution of promotional activities and in-store communication materials.
- Prepare weekly performance reports, including KPI analysis and improvement proposals.
- Strategy & Development
- Participate in annual action planning (Action Plan Calendar).
- Contribute to shaping the strategic direction of Empoli Outlet through proposals that drive commercial growth and enhance the customer experience.
- Support the identification and onboarding of new brands into the Empoli Outlet portfolio.
- Foster relationships with Area Managers of independent corners to exchange best practices.
Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of retail experience, ideally in a department store or outlet environment.
- Strong communication skills, professional presence, and a commercial mindset.
- Fluent in Greek and English (additional languages are a plus).
- Reliability, responsibility, and a strong team-oriented approach.
- Proficiency in computer systems & ERP (e.g., POS, MS Office).
- Strong organizational skills, autonomy, and a collaborative mindset.
- Leadership ability with proven skills in coaching, motivating, and developing teams.
- Excellent time management and prioritization skills.
