About the Legal AI Content Optimization Lead Role

LexisNexis is seeking an innovative Legal AI Content Optimization Lead to spearhead AI ideation and workflow integration specifically for caselaw content. In this pivotal role, you will leverage your extensive experience in legal content to conceptualize AI opportunities and translate them into actionable strategies. The primary goal is to significantly enhance the quality, speed, and scalability of content creation through advanced AI technologies.

Key outcomes for this position include accelerating time-to-market for legal content, improving content currency and update frequency, and substantially increasing the volume of high-quality caselaw content and enhancements on a global scale. Reporting directly to the Global Head of Cases Editorial Operations, the Legal AI Content Optimization Lead will play a critical role in designing and implementing the long-term caselaw roadmap and necessary infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development of strategies for AI-assisted caselaw collection, conversion, and content generation, ensuring alignment with business goals and market demands to deliver enhanced content solutions to customers.
• Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams, including product strategy, product management, engineering, business analysts, subject matter experts, and project management, to prioritize opportunities and execute AI content optimization from ideation to global deployment.
• Oversee the integration of AI solutions for worldwide deployment across North America, UK, and Asia and Pacific regions, ensuring seamless incorporation into existing workflows, tools, and platforms.
• Work closely with content experts to define robust content standards and guidelines for AI-generated research materials, guaranteeing adherence to copyright ownership, compliance, and accuracy requirements. This includes ensuring necessary platform features for versioning to accurately capture human-in-the-loop activities.
• Contribute to the design and development of AI models specifically tailored for legal content creation, taking into account the nuances of diverse legal systems and languages.
• Effectively estimate resource needs and costs; pioneer methods for evaluating, improving, and tracking AI content output over time by utilizing feedback from global teams and expert authors.
• Communicate progress and outcomes clearly to internal teams, senior leadership, and key stakeholders, providing data-driven insights to support decision-making.
• Foster a culture of innovation and experimentation, promoting the adoption of AI-driven tools and methodologies throughout the organization’s global operations.
• Implement continuous optimizations to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of AI content production, with careful consideration for regional variations.
• Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, competitive intelligence, and best practices in AI and content generation, with a strong focus on global applications.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in a related field is required; a legal degree is preferred.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in content/publishing, project management, or product development.
• Proven experience in legal content, demonstrating a strong understanding of case law and case law enhancements; familiarity with content management systems and their requirements.
• Practical experience in utilizing AI/automation for content optimization.
• A proven track record of successfully leading cross-functional teams and delivering complex projects on time and within budget, preferably in a global context.

Key Skills/Competency

• Strong understanding of AI technologies, including Natural Language Processing (NLP), and Machine Learning.
• Previous experience in improving Large Language Models (LLMs), AI tools, or similar technologies.
• Proficiency in writing effective prompts and designing evaluative techniques for AI outputs.
• Highly proficient in data analysis and performance metrics, with the ability to report insights and progress to stakeholders; advanced Excel skills are essential.
