The Role: Senior AWS Python Platform Engineer

We are seeking a Python Software Engineer with strong AWS core skills to join a global team shaping the future of cloud technology. You will be instrumental in designing and evolving a secure, automated, and scalable AWS platform, empowering teams worldwide to innovate faster. This role also involves supporting local software engineers in migrating their workloads to the AWS cloud.

Responsibilities

• Design and evolve the AWS landing zone, ensuring a secure and automated foundation for global workloads.
• Collaborate with a world-class team of AWS engineers to deliver a secure, scalable, and developer-friendly cloud platform.
• Build powerful automations using Everything as Code and Infrastructure as Code principles to reduce operational overhead and accelerate innovation.
• Drive the cloud-first transformation by guiding teams through the migration from on-premise to AWS.
• Continuously innovate and expand platform capabilities with cutting-edge solutions to meet evolving business needs.
• Implement governance frameworks for automated compliance checks against internal risk standards.
• Standardize infrastructure components to ensure consistency and reliability across all workloads.
• Develop automated testing strategies to guarantee platform quality and resilience.
• Enhance CI/CD pipelines to enable faster and safer deployments.
• Scale the AWS platform globally by expanding into new regions to support business growth.
• Lead migration efforts from on-premise data centers to AWS cloud in alignment with strategic roadmaps.
• Partner with developers to translate software requirements into robust cloud solutions.
• Act as a local ambassador for the department, ensuring effective communication with stakeholders and representing the team.

Technical Playground

• 5+ years of Python development experience.
• Strong software development skills in Python; experience with AWS CDK or Terraform is highly valued.
• Hands-on experience with AWS, including a deep understanding of core services (IAM, Security, Compute, Monitoring, Storage) and AWS Serverless services (Step Functions, Lambda, SNS).
• Experience with a wide range of other AWS services (networking, governance, integration, compute) is beneficial.
• Good understanding of general IT networking principles.
• Professional experience with CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins, AWS CodeBuild, CodePipeline).
• Professional experience with automated software testing.
• Experience working with code version control tools like Git.
• Good understanding of observability tooling (e.g., Splunk).
• Experience with Microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Nice to Have

• Experience in Data Analytics or Security within the AWS environment.
• AWS Solution Architect Certification or AWS Developer Certification.
• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
• Demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects.
• Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation.
• Understanding of financial services and risk management.
• University degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
