The Role Overview

As part of the Public Cloud Platform team at ABN AMRO Clearing, you will help establish the ideal foundation for new workloads on AWS. Your team will consist of 4-6 AWS Cloud Platform Engineers focused on creating a secure, compliant, and user-friendly platform. You will collaborate with other engineers and colleagues, such as those in the Development Services team, to support the customer's transition from on-premises infrastructure to an AWS Cloud DevOps model.

Responsibilities:

• Support new cloud initiatives or migrations from on-premises to AWS.
• Improve CI/CD pipelines.
• Collaborate with developers on software requirements.
• Encourage and build automated processes wherever possible.
• React quickly to feedback to continuously improve processes.
• Informally train and share your DevOps knowledge within the team.
• Build a bridge to the cloud platform teams.

Technical Playground:

• 5+ years of experience as a DevOps Engineer.
• Proven experience with AWS using IaC (CloudFormation, CDK). Our customer is an AWS CDK-first company, so experience with Terraform is appreciated, but strong software development skills are essential.
• 5+ years of experience working with Python.
• Experience working with code version control tools like GIT.
• Experience with AWS Services categories specifically used by our partner: Compute, Storage, Serverless, Databases, Container.
• Experience with automation software like Jenkins or AWS CodePipeline.
• Experience in test-driven development, SOLID principles, and Twelve-factor app methodology.
• Experience in Microservices architecture and distributed systems.

Nice to Have:

• Experience in Data Analytics or Security within the AWS environment.
• AWS Solution Architect Certification or AWS Developer Certification.
• Awareness of critical concepts in DevOps and Agile principles.
• A demonstrated record of achievement in large technical (migration) projects.
• Ability to keep up with software and cloud development trends and innovation.
• Understanding of financial services and risk management in general.
• University degree in Computer Science/Engineering.
