About the Traveling Welder Role at Vital Link, Inc.

Vital Link, Inc. (VLI) is actively seeking skilled Journeyman and motivated entry-level personnel to join their dynamic Field Department as a Traveling Welder. This role involves full-time travel across the U.S. and potentially overseas, supporting critical repair, maintenance, and installation projects for USAF Noise Suppressors (Engine Test Cells and Hush Houses).

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform combination welding duties for structural components and various industrial construction tasks.
  • Support repair, maintenance, and installation of USAF Noise Suppressors (Engine Test Cells and Hush Houses).
  • Work effectively within a small Contract Field Team, often supporting multiple trades.
  • Interpret blueprints accurately for project execution.
  • Adhere to safety regulations and quality standards on all project sites.
  • Travel extensively within the Continental U.S. and potentially internationally.

Required Qualifications and Skills

  • Experience: For Journeyman consideration, a minimum of five (5) years of welding experience is required. Entry-level positions are also available.
  • Technical Skills: General knowledge of industrial construction. Experience with steel erection and refurbishment is preferred. Ability to read blueprints is essential.
  • Adaptability: Ability to support more than one trade (e.g., ironwork, sheet metal, mechanical, electrical) depending on team needs.
  • Travel: Willingness and ability to travel full-time across the U.S. and potentially overseas.
  • Logistics: Must have reliable transportation for travel within the Continental U.S.
  • Security: Ability to pass a background check for access to US military and other customer installations.

Compensation and Benefits

VLI offers competitive wages and a comprehensive benefits package, including holiday and vacation pay. Work in the U.S. is governed by the Service Contract Act for payment of prevailing wages and benefits. Travel expenses are fully reimbursed, and a per diem is provided.
