Detailed Description
The Summer Student will be involved with modernizing site operations. This role focuses on transitioning our proprietary AMS/ITAD suite from legacy systems to a scalable, global-ready architecture. You will work alongside the senior team to eliminate technical debt, improve production turnaround, and scale our physical hardware infrastructure.
Areas Of Focus
- Legacy Modernization: Assist in application development rewrite, migrating codebase into a modern framework for enhanced analytics.
- Technical Debt & Documentation: Identify and replace "band-aid" fixes with production-grade code; author technical manuals and user guides.
- Systems Maintenance: Support application development through bug fixes and feature requests to accelerate production.
- Operational Support: Manage Manufacturing Execution System report maintenance, routing configurations, and container logic.
- Hardware Scaling: Provide manual support for the Server Rack Project, including assembly and testing.
Preferred Skills
- Experience with one or more of the following programming languages: C, C#, C++, Java or Python. SQL would also be considered an asset.
- Problem solving skills and willingness to learn and adapt to new/changing opportunities.
- Experience with Linux would be an asset.
- Experience with AI/ML models.

Physical Demands
Duties of this position are performed in a normal office with exposure to manufacturing environments. Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements are frequently required (e.g. data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc). Basic manufacturing system knowledge.
Salary
The range described in this posting is an estimate by the Company, and may change based on several factors, including but not limited to a change in the duties covered by the job posting, or the credentials, experience or geographic jurisdiction of the successful candidate.
The hourly wage is determined by the years of study completed and is non-negotiable as per company policy.
