Job Summary
The Specialist, Government Contracts is responsible for the strategic development and administration of contracts with State and Federal governments for Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, and other government-sponsored programs to provide health care services to low income, uninsured, and other populations.
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
This role performs activities including maintaining state correspondence and regulatory databases, communicating deliverables and submissions between staff and governmental agencies, updating policies and procedures, and reviewing contracts. The Specialist maintains calendars and databases for regulatory filings, approvals, inquiries, and ad hoc regulatory requests. This position responds to government agency inquiries regarding plan issues and requirements and coordinates with other departments to ensure prompt resolution. It also involves conducting research on government program and state requirements as needed and helping maintain a Government Contracts SharePoint site for regulatory correspondence, reports, and materials.
Job Qualifications
Required: High School diploma or equivalent, 2+ years of experience in a managed care environment (preferably Medicaid), and knowledge of state Medicaid Policies and Programs.
Preferred: Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Healthcare or related field, 2+ years of compliance-related experience, and 1+ years in Medicare.
