Thermo Fisher Scientific Language Services is looking for a Spanish Latam Language Specialist in Latin America with experience in clinical translation and quality assurance to join its internal team. This role is crucial for ensuring high-quality linguistic assets and translations for critical scientific and clinical documentation.

Key Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage the final quality of assigned translations to ensure high standards.
• Manage and update language assets, including translation memories, terminology, and style guides.
• Perform occasional linguistic tasks such as initial translation, revision, and client feedback implementation.
• Conduct quality checks on clinical translations, including ICFs, protocols, IBs, and patient diaries.
• Develop and maintain terminology and style guides specifically for the Spanish Latam language variant.
• Ensure Spanish Latam translation memories are consistently updated.
• Set and execute linguistic quality assurance processes for the assigned language globally as required.
• Utilize CAT technology to monitor the quality of outsourced language translations and external suppliers.
• Analyze language quality issues and collaborate with the project management team on quality improvement plans.

Educational & Professional Requirements

Applicants should meet the following educational and professional requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in translations, linguistics, or language studies with significant translation studies from a recognized higher education institution.

Preferred Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Native Language: Spanish – any Latin American variant.
• Proven experience with CAT/TMS tools is required.
• Demonstrated experience in terminology management and Translation Memory (TM) usage is required.
• Excellent skills in multi-tasking, time management, organization, and attention to detail.
• Exceptional oral, written, and interpersonal communication skills.
• Proficiency in MS Office suite.
