A Typical Day as a Seasonal Tax Associate
In this role, you will be providing superior customer support primarily via video, phone, and chat. Your responsibilities will include assisting customers with their tax returns, which can range from troubleshooting software or network connectivity issues to researching and answering complex tax questions, or even preparing returns directly. Your expertise in tax preparation and technical abilities will be crucial in creating an excellent customer experience. You will be expected to resolve customer problems in a friendly and timely manner, ensuring high customer satisfaction, and meticulously document all customer interactions.
What You Bring To The Role
- An Active PTIN (Preparer Tax Identification Number)
- At least 2 years of professional experience preparing and filing individual (1040) returns using professional tax preparation software in a professional or retail setting.
- Strong technical skills and proficiency in navigating computer systems and various software, including professional tax software, Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, Word, Excel), Slack, and timekeeping solutions.
- A dedicated workspace equipped with a hard-wired Ethernet connection and a personal computer for administrative responsibilities. Satellite or Wi-Fi providers are not suitable for this role's connectivity requirements.

We offer seasonal and flexible hours, including weekend-only roles, accommodating mornings, midday, and evenings, 7 days per week, all from the comfort of your home office. This is a W2 position starting at $33 per hour, supplemented with benefits including a 401K with a company match, various perks, and other incentives. You will work through April 16, 2026, averaging 20 hours a week, with opportunities for additional hours. JDA TSG is committed to your success, providing comprehensive training and support from our management team. Equipment, including a laptop, will be provided for the duration of your employment, though you must also have access to a personal computer for your use.
