Job Summary
Lensa, promoting on behalf of Rockefeller University, is seeking a Research Assistant for the Laboratory of Chemistry and Cell Biology. This role focuses on understanding molecular mechanisms essential for genome propagation to develop new cancer therapies, utilizing chemical probes, synthetic chemistry, biochemistry, biophysics, and quantitative cell biology.
Overview of the Role
Supervised by a senior scientist, the Research Assistant will be an integral part of a team project, specifically focusing on protein biochemistry research within the lab.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform protein purification and a variety of biochemical assays.
- Conduct protein biochemistry and molecular biology techniques.
- Prepare recombinant DNA.
- Execute multi-step cloning to generate research constructs.
- Manage ordering and distribution of research supplies.
- Maintain accurate lab inventories.
Qualifications and Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in science is required, with a preference for educational emphasis in molecular biology, structural biology, or biochemistry.
- Previous laboratory experience in molecular biology and biochemistry is preferred.
- Must demonstrate the ability to work effectively within a dynamic team to achieve challenging milestones promptly.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision is essential.
- Experience in structural biology and protein biochemistry is considered a significant plus.
Compensation
The hiring range for this Research Assistant position at Rockefeller University is between $50,000.00 and $55,000.00 USD annually. Salary will be determined based on factors such as qualifications, experience, education, and relevant training.
