Project Manager at GovCIO

Lensa promotes job openings on behalf of its direct clients, recruitment ad agencies, and marketing partners. GovCIO is currently hiring for a Project Manager to support and lead key IT products related to health and benefits at the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA). This position will be fully remote within the United States.

Overview

GovCIO is seeking a Project Manager to drive critical IT initiatives for the Department of Veterans Affairs, focusing on health and benefits products. This role involves comprehensive project oversight in a fully remote capacity.

Responsibilities

  • Creates integrated project plans for contract deliverables and new products in development projects.
  • Manages a project team comprised of a multidisciplinary staff.
  • Reviews, manages and controls status of projects and budgets; manages schedules and prepares status reports.
  • Assesses project issues and develops resolutions to meet productivity, quality, and client-satisfaction goals and objectives.
  • Develops mechanisms for monitoring project progress and for intervention and problem solving with team members and line managers.
  • Generally reports to a Program Manager.
  • Manages the direction of a project through the design, implementation, and testing in accordance with project objectives.
  • Oversees and manages Program Increment Planning.
  • Supports VA product budgeting.
  • Defines requirements and plans project lifecycle deployment.
  • Supervises professional and technical support personnel performing in their regular disciplines.
  • Schedules tasks and coordinates with various team members to accomplish the results.
  • Manages the integration of vendor tasks and tracks and reviews vendor deliverables.
  • Ensures adherence to quality standards and reviews project deliverables.
  • Conducts project meetings and is responsible for project tracking, analysis and reporting.

Qualifications

The ideal candidate will possess a strong background in IT project management with specific experience in agile environments and budget oversight.

Required Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor's with 5 - 8 years (or commensurate experience).
  • Experience delivering on IT products.
  • Experience with SAFe Agile and other agile methodologies.
  • Program and Product Management Experience.
  • Experience managing budgets.

Clearance Required

  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Suitability/Public Trust.

Preferred Skills And Experience

  • Experience managing budgets at the VA.
  • Experience in IT at the VA.
