Process Project Engineer at Farnsworth Group

Farnsworth Group is seeking a dedicated Process Project Engineer to join its distinguished Process Engineering Group. This remote-based position is open to candidates throughout the United States, offering a unique opportunity to lead and support process design for multidisciplinary projects within the high-purity manufacturing sector, particularly in semiconductors.

Who We Are Looking For

As a Process Project Engineer, you will be instrumental in managing client interfaces and project proposals. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Managing and interfacing with clients effectively.
  • Preparing comprehensive project proposals.
  • Performing precise calculations for piping and equipment design.
  • Providing CAD/BIM support for various projects.
  • Preparing detailed construction documents.
  • Establishing project budgets and diligently tracking project financials.

What You'll Need to Succeed

We are seeking a candidate with a robust background and specific expertise:

  • Experience: 10+ years in design and/or construction within Process Chemical, Water, Wastewater, or Gas Systems, with a strong preference for experience in the microelectronics industry.
  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Chemical, Environmental, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Technical Knowledge:
    • In-depth understanding of Process Chemical, Gas, Water, and/or Wastewater systems and equipment.
    • General knowledge of semiconductor, high purity, or chemical manufacturing processes, especially with wafer facilities.
    • Demonstrated experience with piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs).
    • A solid grasp of thermodynamics, fluid flow, chemistry, and mass balance principles.
    • Familiarity with relevant design codes and regulations (ASME, IFC, ASHRAE, etc.) is preferred.
    • Knowledge of instrumentation and controls (I&C) is preferred.
    • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is preferred.
  • Certifications: Professional Engineer (PE) License preferred; if not already obtained, licensure is required within 1-2 years of accepting the position.
  • Skills:
    • Ability to manage several projects simultaneously.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Strong organization, analytical, and problem-solving abilities.
    • Capable of working effectively in a team environment with meticulous attention to detail.
    • Encourages and supports a safety-oriented culture.
  • Travel: Ability to travel up to 25%.
