Position Summary

The People Business Partner (PBP) is a trusted advisor providing guidance to leaders and employees on various People-related matters while supporting the execution of our People strategy. The PBP strengthens leadership capability within their designated business area(s) by promoting effective talent management, employee engagement, and organizational alignment. This role focuses on building and sustaining a positive employee experience through proactive partnership, coaching, and support in a dynamic, people-first culture. The PBP collaborates closely with business leaders and internal People Centers of Excellence to implement scalable HR programs and processes. This is a Remote/Work from Home position reporting to Manager, People Business Partners.

What You Will Do

  • Partner with people leaders to support people strategy execution that aligns with team and business unit objectives, with a focus on supporting a high performing, values-aligned, and highly engaged workforce.
  • Provide guidance on employee relations (ER) matters, including performance coaching, investigations, and conflict resolution.
  • Manage routine to moderately complex ER issues, escalating critical cases as appropriate.
  • Tracks and manages entire employee relations case cycle - from initial discussions to formal/informal resolution.
  • Investigates and resolves complex or critical employee relations issues, ensuring investigations of complaints or performance concerns are conducted and coordinated with other stakeholders in an objective, thorough and timely manner; documents all findings and recommendations.
  • Facilitates core people programs (e.g., goal setting, performance evaluations, engagement initiatives, and employee recognition) within designated business units.
  • Support and coach leaders in identifying and developing employee strengths, managing team effectiveness, and fostering engagement.
  • Collaborate with the People Centers of Excellence (e.g., Compensation, Benefits, Talent Acquisition, Learning & Development) to deliver effective and consistent HR solutions.
  • Develop, interpret, and apply company policies, labor laws, and employment practices to ensure compliance and fairness.
  • Assist in tracking and reporting people metrics to inform business decisions; support ad hoc reporting and workforce analysis as needed.
  • Participate in or lead smaller-scale HR projects or pilots within the business area; support broader change initiatives led by Sr. PBPs or the Manager.
  • Promote an inclusive culture by embedding diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging in all interactions and processes.
  • Manage the exit interview process within assigned business unit(s); analyze trends to recommend improvements in retention and engagement.
  • Stay informed of HR best practices, employment law updates, and company policies; contribute to process improvements within the team.
  • Analyzes trends and metrics in business units and partners with relevant People team stakeholders to develop solutions, programs, and policies.
  • Manages exit interview process in their business area; analyzes causes of turnover and suggests approaches to drive improvements in employee retention.
  • Provides information, interpretation, advice, training, and counsel to managers and employees on developing and setting performance standards and conducting quality evaluations that drive performance and employees' career potential.
  • Other duties as assigned to support business or People team priorities.

Qualifications

  • High-school diploma or GED required; BS/BA degree or equivalent experience is preferred.
  • 5-7 years of relevant experience in a People Business Partner role.
  • Experience supporting remote workforces in a multi-state environment required.
  • Strong preference for previous support in an HRBP capacity for contact/service center employee populations and/or warehouse facilities.
  • Experience building and leading HR programs, projects, and teams.
  • Proficiency in HRIS systems (Dayforce a plus) and Microsoft Office Suite, including strong Excel skills (pivot tables, VLOOKUP, etc).
  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR certification is preferred.
  • Experience in People disciplines including employee relations, performance management, talent development, and compensation practices.
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity, maintain confidentiality, and exercise sound judgment in sensitive or evolving situations.
  • Demonstrated ability to coach managers, facilitate ER conversations, and resolve day-to-day workplace issues.
  • Proven ability to understand strategic organizational issues and influence change.
  • Utilizes strategic and critical thinking and analytical skills regularly to identify issues and trends, develop solutions and/or recommendations to address root cause and solve problems.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentation and facilitation skills, with the ability to build rapport and credibility with mid-level leaders and employees.
  • Self-starter with high level of detail orientation, strong organizational and time management skills, and ability to handle multiple priorities with demanding timeframes.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and staff to create a high-quality results-driven, team-oriented environment.
  • Willingness and ability to travel occasionally overnight (up to 10%) and work flexible hours as needed.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

Employees may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: Sitting and standing (90%), Keyboarding (60%-80%), Viewing computer monitor, tablet and cell phone screen requiring close vision (90%). May lift or move boxes up to 10lbs. This is a 100% remote position. Work is performed in a home office/remote environment.

Compensation

$90,000 to $100,000 determined by competitive market analysis and internal equity considerations. Final compensation will be based on the candidate’s qualifications, experience, and business needs.
