The N926 Adversary Intelligence Department specializes in mission management, strategic foresight, test and evaluation, and Intelligence After Next, delivering forward-looking intelligence solutions to anticipate and address emerging threats.
Your Role as a National Defense and Intelligence Analyst Intern
As a National Defense and Intelligence Analyst Intern, you will be part of a team of MITRE professionals dedicated to resolving the most difficult mission challenges faced by the Intelligence Community (IC). You will leverage various tools, data architectures, and traditional/non-traditional data sources to solve critical intelligence gaps. Your responsibilities will include:
- Providing direct support to Sponsors through technical recommendations and all-source analysis.
- Applying scientific methods and technical tradecraft across the full range of intelligence missions in support of global operations.
- Developing, assessing, and recommending the adoption of advanced analytic techniques, including large language models, entity extraction/resolution, audio transcription, and other data analytic tools.
- Participating as part of a MITRE team to define, resolve, and deliver solutions to the most pressing technical challenges faced by the IC.
- Supporting the development of a variety of analytical models for sponsor challenges.
- Working with teams to produce concrete short-term tangible outputs that contribute to larger, impactful outcomes.
Basic Qualifications
- Currently pursuing a Bachelor’s/Master’s/PhD in Public Policy, Security Studies, International Relations, Political Science, or a related field.
- Must continue to be enrolled in an academic program the semester following the internship.
- Sustained excellence in academic performance.
- Foundational knowledge in national security and data analytic techniques, including large language models, entity extraction/resolution, audio transcription, and other data analytic tools.
- Ability to obtain a U.S. government security clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Current active U.S. Government clearance (TS/SCI) with poly.
- Experience developing, assessing, and recommending adoption of advanced data analytic techniques, including large language models, entity extraction/resolution, audio transcription, and other data analytic tools.
- Self-starting initiative and outstanding organizational / time management skills.
- Excellent written and oral communication.
- Strong interpersonal skills with Sponsors and MITRE staff.
