Job Summary
The Manual QA Analyst at CAI will provide the means and measures for testing all aspects of a software solution, both functionally and technically, to meet requirements and ensure overall quality. This role involves creating and executing end-to-end test plans, managing all activities within the plan to ensure objectives are met, and verifying the solution works as expected in terms of functionality, performance, reliability/stability, and compatibility with other systems. The position requires strong collaboration with technical peers and familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodologies is highly desirable.
Key Responsibilities and Scope of Work
- Execute Quality Assurance activities to ensure system standards and user requirements are met.
- Write, manage, and execute comprehensive test plans.
- Design, write, and execute detailed test cases and test scenarios.
- Leverage JIRA, SQL, and other testing tools for Quality Assurance activities.
- Gain a deep understanding of the operating environment, business processes, and application functionality.
- Perform Mobile testing on different platforms and operating systems.
- Author test suites, including test scenarios and test cases traceable to requirements.
- Validate data and reports using SQL and other relevant tools.
- Prioritize and plan quality control activities across large projects and report regularly on product quality.
- Conduct risk assessment for each release and contribute to bug reporting and triage.
- Identify, document, and track issues found during testing, coordinating with developers to resolve them.
- Determine, communicate, and execute appropriate testing strategies for each deliverable.
- Evaluate the performance of automation systems or processes and identify improvement opportunities.
- Responsible for repeatable test automation or manual testing at all three levels of the Agile Test Pyramid.
- Address client requirements and resolve complex problems related to industrial automation systems architecture or process implementation.
Required Skills and Experience
- 5-8 years of experience in Quality Assurance or a related field.
- Strong manual API testing skills.
- Exceptional test case writing skills, including the ability to think of positive and negative test cases on the spot.
- Proficiency with Jira for defect tracking and test management.
- Ability to plan testing strategies for optimal efficiency and delivery.
- Clear communication skills to explain bugs and propose resolution approaches.
- An articulate, friendly, cheerful, and outgoing personality, willing to contribute to group discussions and resolutions.
- Proactive, eager to learn, and team-oriented, capable of mentoring junior team members.
- Working knowledge of Quality testing and business process analysis concepts in an Agile / DevOps environment.
- Demonstrated creativity, analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
- Proven ability to collaborate effectively with technical peers and business partners.
- Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong experience with code-based test automation suites such as Selenium or Katalon.
- Strong experience with modern languages like JavaScript, C#, PHP, or Python.
- Strong experience with build automation technologies like Jenkins or GitHub Actions.
- Experience with AWS, Docker, and Swagger.
- Proven ability to write automated test scripts to verify data structures, formats, and values.
- Experience with Jenkins or similar build/deployment automation tools.
