Job Summary

The Manual QA Analyst position requires 5-8 years of experience, emphasizing manual API testing skills and strong test case writing abilities. Candidates must be able to think of positive and negative test cases on the spot based on requirements. Proficiency in Jira is essential.

Job Description

As a Manual QA Analyst, you will be expected to plan testing strategy for optimal proficiency and delivery. You should clearly explain bugs and propose resolution approaches. An articulate, friendly, cheerful, and outgoing personality is highly valued, encouraging active participation in group discussions and contributions to problem resolution, rather than just being a 'head down' tester. This role involves mentoring team members and fostering a collaborative environment. Strong proactiveness, eagerness to learn, and a positive attitude are key.

The Quality Engineer provides the means and measures for testing all aspects of a software solution, both functionally and technically, to meet requirements and ensure overall quality. The Analyst is responsible for creating an end-to-end test plan, executing it, and managing all activities to ensure objectives are met and the solution works as expected. The solution must be tested for functionality, performance, reliability/stability, and compatibility with other legacy and/or external systems. This position requires testing and collaboration with technical peers. Familiarity with Agile and DevOps methodology is highly desirable.

Scope of Work

• Execute Quality Assurance activities to ensure system standards and user requirements are met.
• Write, manage, and execute test plans.
• Design, write, and execute test cases and test scenarios.
• Leverage Jira, SQL, and other testing tools in the execution of Quality Assurance activities.
• Gain understanding of operating environment, business processes, and application functionality.
• Experience with Mobile testing on different platforms and operating systems.
• Experienced with use of test tools used in the DevOps environment.
• Author the Test Suite - test scenarios and test cases traceable to requirements to validate application deliverables.
• Validate data and reports using SQL and other tools (where needed).
• Prioritize and plan quality control activities across a large project, and report on product quality regularly.
• Responsible for risk assessment for each release and contribute to bug reporting and triage.
• Identify, document, and track issues found during testing.
• Coordinate with developers and project team members to triage and resolve issues.
• Determine, communicate, and execute the appropriate testing strategy for each deliverable.
• Evaluates the performance of automation systems or processes, finds improvement opportunities.
• Responsible for repeatable test automation or manual at all three levels of the Agile Test Pyramid.
• Addresses client's requirements and resolves complex problems related to industrial automation systems architecture or process implementation.

Required Skills/Experience

• 5-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
• Working knowledge of Quality testing and business process analysis, concepts, practices, and procedures in the Agile / DevOps environment.
• Ability to demonstrate a certain degree of creativity combined with analysis, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills.
• Proven ability to collaborate with technical peers and business partners.
• Capable of working independently and as part of a team.
• May assist and guide junior staff as necessary.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong experience with a code-based test automation suite such as Selenium, Katalon is required.
• Strong experience with modern languages such as JavaScript, C#, PHP, Python etc.
• Strong experience with build automation technologies like Jenkins, GitHub Actions, etc.
• Experience with AWS, Docker, Swagger.
• Proven ability to write automated test scripts to verify data structures, data formats, and data values.
• Experience with Jenkins or similar build/deployment automation tools.

Preferred Education

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• 5-7 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
