Overview
The Manager - Document Control and Technical Writing will be responsible for managing all document control and technical writing aspects for engineering development and delivery of digital product suite projects. This position involves collaboration with engineering and project management teams to ensure compliance with industry standards and internal policies.
Essential Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and maintain document control procedures and systems.
- Create, edit, and maintain high-quality technical documentation.
- Manage lifecycle processes including version control, approvals, and archiving.
- Ensure compliance with regulatory, quality, and contractual requirements.
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, and quality teams.
- Train and support staff on document control processes and tools.
- Collaborate with SMEs for accuracy and consistency in documentation.
- Lead and mentor a team of document control specialists and technical writers.
- Allocate resources to meet deadlines and quality standards.
- Monitor KPIs and report on documentation performance and compliance.
- Facilitate change management, record management and audit processes.
- Review IT infrastructure changes and their impact on documentation.
Required Qualifications
Minimum educational and experience requirements include a Bachelor’s Degree in Nuclear Engineering, Computer Science or related STEM field with 10+ years of experience, or a High School Diploma/GED with 15+ years experience in related fields. Management experience of at least 5 years is required.
Eligibility & Work Environment
The preferred work location is GEH Headquarters in Wilmington, NC, though remote candidates are considered. The role requires access to U.S. export-controlled information and may require travel up to 10% domestically and internationally.
