Responsibilities of a Junior Water Policy Analyst
- Research & Analysis: Perform comprehensive literature reviews, synthesize findings, and analyze complex data to inform critical water policy decisions, as well as regulatory development and implementation processes.
- Writing & Communication: Draft and meticulously edit a variety of documents, including reports, guidance documents, case studies, and engaging outreach materials. These materials will be tailored for diverse audiences, including underserved communities, ensuring clear and effective communication.
- Project Support: Provide essential assistance to project managers, focusing on meticulous planning, coordination, and rigorous quality assurance across multiple concurrent initiatives, ensuring all project goals are met with excellence.
- Training & Outreach: Develop highly engaging and informative materials for a range of platforms, including webinars, in-person training sessions, and online programs. Additionally, create effective communication tools specifically designed for states, tribes, and various water systems to facilitate knowledge transfer and implementation.
- Collaboration: Work closely and effectively with interdisciplinary teams, leveraging collective expertise to deliver high-quality, impactful solutions that not only meet client needs but also significantly advance public health goals.
Qualifications for this Role
- Education: Bachelor of Science (BS) or Bachelor of Arts (BA) in public health, sciences, social sciences, environmental science and policy, or a closely related field, combined with 0 to 2 years of relevant professional experience.
- Skills: Demonstrated strong research capabilities, robust analytical and problem-solving abilities, and excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite is also required.
- Experience: Coursework or foundational experience in EPA regulatory programs, water science, or environmental policy is strongly preferred, indicating a solid understanding of the sector.
- Attributes: A highly motivated, detail-oriented individual who is comfortable working both independently and collaboratively within a team. Must possess the ability to effectively translate complex technical concepts into understandable language for varied audiences.
Additional Information
Candidates must be eligible to work in the United States as a U.S. Permanent Resident or U.S. Citizen and may be required to obtain a security clearance.
This position will operate on a hybrid work arrangement, requiring 3 days a week in either our Arlington, VA, or Waltham, MA office.

The minimum starting salary for this position is $60,000, with the actual salary determined by experience, education, skills, and market competitiveness.
