Overview
The IT Intern Asset and Configuration Management role at Ascension offers a hands-on opportunity to contribute to a large healthcare environment by ensuring data integrity in the Configuration Management Database (CMDB).
Details
This is a Summer 2026 full-time internship (May - August) on a remote work arrangement through Ascension Technologies. Responsibilities
- Manage hardware and software asset lifecycle from intake to retirement.
- Process incoming requests and tickets ensuring organizational data standards.
- Maintain data quality in the CMDB as the single source of truth.
- Generate daily and weekly KPIs using Google Sheets and ServiceNow.
- Participate in leadership meetings and document technical processes.
- Identify process improvements for enterprise asset data capture and maintenance.
Essential Functions
- Investigate root causes of data errors for lasting fixes.
- Create clear documentation and standard operating procedures.
- Navigate ITIL-based ticket workflows effectively.
- Collaborate with IT, Security, and Finance departments.
Requirements & Preferred Qualifications
Candidates must have a high school diploma equivalency or be enrolled in an accredited technical program, with preference given to those pursuing a Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Business Data Analytics, Computer Science, or related fields. Basic IT fundamentals, data proficiency in Google Sheets/Excel, familiarity with ServiceNow or similar platforms, and strong attention to detail are important.
