About Lumen's Internship Program

This is a 10-week summer internship offering hands-on experience in digital innovation. Interns work full time, learn from industry experts, and contribute to impactful projects. Program dates are May 29 – August 7, 2026.

The Role

The Intern Information Security Engineer will support security projects and compliance initiatives. Key responsibilities include:

• Providing security support across project teams
• Responding to requests for security control changes
• Working in a Help Desk capacity for timely ticket resolution
• Assuring SAP security configuration and compliance
• Assisting with audits, risk management, and controls
• Collaborating with IT, business partners, and auditors

This technical role requires resourcefulness, attention to detail, and strong communication skills.

Required Qualifications

Candidates should be enrolled in a 4-year accredited college, ideally in Computer Science, Information Systems, Cybersecurity, or a related field. Must have a rising senior status at the start of the internship and US work authorization.

Additional Information

This position is fully remote within the continental US. Hours are full time (40 hours/week) for the duration of the 10-week program. Background screening will be conducted and equal employment opportunities are provided to all candidates.
