Job Description

As a Human Resources Manager, you will be instrumental in the organizational planning process, leveraging a deep understanding of business needs. You will adopt a consultative approach, engaging with managers on business and people issues, and will lead HR projects, including policy revisions and employee programs. This role involves consulting with managers on all aspects of leadership and employee/labor relations, contributing to a best-in-class culture. You will lead projects, track goals, report progress, make recommendations, and assist with implementation, ensuring consistent and equitable application of organizational policies across functional areas. You will also lead and execute talent initiatives, acting as a change agent to foster employee growth and development.

Key Job Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary business partner to build effective teams and achieve business goals.
  • Manage and develop HR team members to become future HR leaders and meet regional team objectives.
  • Cultivate strong relationships with all stakeholders, including labor unions, by understanding business operations and interests to drive performance.
  • Exhibit intellectual curiosity and an analytical mindset focused on solutions.
  • Influence business leaders to attract and retain talent through robust training, development, and reward strategies.
  • Collaborate with Centers of Excellence (COEs) for leadership development, strategy, people analytics, and recruiting.
  • Identify root causes and conduct data analysis to propose short-term and long-term interventions and solutions.
  • Improve and apply HR processes, policies, and standards in compliance with local and federal employment laws.
  • Independently investigate and resolve labor relations and employee issues, partnering with legal teams when necessary.
  • Apply analytical skills to synthesize large quantities of data, interpret trends, and formulate data-driven recommendations.
  • Implement HR initiatives to support all aforementioned responsibilities.

Education and/or Experience Required

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources or a related field, or equivalent professional experience; Master's Degree preferred.
  • A minimum of 5 years of progressive HR experience within fast-paced, matrix organizations.
  • Experience with collective bargaining, negotiations, and consultations with labor unions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Teams).

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to travel approximately 50%.
  • Proven ability to understand business goals and design/implement new approaches, policies, and procedures for continuous improvement in business objectives, productivity, and HR function development.
  • Demonstrated bias for action through proactive, innovative, and value-creating solution implementation.
  • Adept at navigating ambiguity within complex, dynamic, and rapidly changing business environments.
  • Ability to seamlessly transition between strategic thinking and tactical execution.
  • Proven ability to prioritize impactful work amidst multiple competing priorities.
  • Success in creating and driving effective and positive employee and labor relations for large populations of hourly employees in distribution and/or manufacturing settings.
  • Success in leading and managing projects, including large-scale, cross-functional initiatives requiring strong stakeholder management.

Compensation Details

The compensation for this position ranges from $100,000 - $120,000 per year. Supplemental pay is commensurate with skill, education, and experience. This position may also be eligible for bonus opportunities tied to individual or business initiatives.
