Base, incubated within Coinbase, is planning to bring a million developers and a billion users onchain. They believe that the onchain platform is the most important builder platform since the internet. Base champions an open source, free-to-use, and globally available platform and is built on Optimism’s OP Stack.

Role: Growth Analyst Africa

This role is designed to tell the story of Africa’s onchain movement. You will help grow Base’s presence across the continent through content, distribution, and community-led programs while highlighting Africa’s innovation in the onchain space.

Key Responsibilities

• Content & Distribution: Lead Base Africa’s content engine, curate stories, trends and moments.
• Distribute content across social media to expand awareness beyond crypto-native circles.
• Collaborate with creators, influencers, and community partners on platform-native content.
• Analyze performance data to refine narratives and storytelling formats.
• Translate ecosystem wins into compelling narratives and content series.

Community & Ecosystem Growth

• Identify and activate partnerships with accelerators, VCs, universities, and media outlets.
• Support community-driven content initiatives including podcasts, interviews, and newsletters.
• Curate online and IRL events that generate stories worth sharing.
• Amplify Base programs through storytelling and social distribution.

Program Support & Operations

• Support the Africa team in executing founder and builder programs.
• Coordinate with marketing, operations, and regional leads for cohesive storytelling.
• Measure and communicate impact through content dashboards and social metrics.

What We’re Looking For

Must-Haves:

• 2–4 years of experience in content or marketing roles in tech or startups.
• Strong understanding of social distribution and content creation.
• Natural storyteller with ability to craft engaging narratives.
• Operationally efficient and able to move projects quickly to publication.
• Excited about content, community, and onchain innovation in Africa.
• Based in Kenya.

Nice-to-Haves:

• Experience with early-stage startups, social media agencies, or media outlets.
• Familiarity with African tech media and local startup ecosystems.
• Ability to work across multiple content formats including short-form, long-form, video, and social-native storytelling.
• Experience managing freelancers, agencies or building a personal brand.
