Job Overview
The Field Engineer Apprentice San Diego CA role at GE Healthcare involves observing and performing equipment service processes to ensure customer satisfaction and proper functionality of diagnostic imaging equipment.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot and repair imaging equipment in hospital radiology environments.
- Conduct preventative maintenance and safety inspections.
- Document service and repair as per hospital and GEHC protocols.
- Communicate daily with customers to ensure resolution and follow-up.
- Learn, maintain, and calibrate tools and test equipment.
- Assist experienced technicians in progressive repairs and resolution.
- Complete required Quality and Compliance training.
- Report quality or compliance concerns.
Required Qualifications
Candidates must have an AS, BS, MS degree, military education, certificate program, current enrollment with less than 12 months from completion (minimum 2.0 GPA) or a High School Diploma/GED with 6 months experience in servicing electronic, IT or mechanical equipment. Familiarity with schematic diagrams and troubleshooting diagnostic imaging or electronic equipment is required. Reliable transportation and a valid driver's license are necessary, along with legal U.S. work authorization.
Desired Qualifications
Experience with interpreting schematic diagrams, effective repair, and maintenance of biomedical or electronic equipment is preferred. Candidates should demonstrate analytical and communication skills, have a customer-focused approach, and the ability to work within a team environment. Physical ability to lift up to 35 lbs and perform various physical tasks is essential.
Compensation & Benefits
For U.S. based positions, the annual pay range is $48,000 - $72,000. Additional performance-based incentives and a competitive benefits package including medical, dental, vision, paid time off, 401(k), insurance, and tuition reimbursement are offered.
