Job Summary

The Executive Director Strategy & Transformation is a key leadership role within Labcorp’s AI Division. The role guides strategic direction and drives enterprise transformation through AI and machine learning integration in clinical research, diagnostics, and healthcare delivery.

Key Responsibilities

  • Enterprise AI Strategy & Leadership: Define and execute comprehensive AI/ML strategy; serve as senior advisor to C-level executives.
  • Transformation & Operations: Lead high-impact transformation programs and manage AI Division resources.
  • Innovation & Design Thinking: Foster a creative culture that promotes rapid prototyping and user-first design.
  • Governance & Ethical AI: Establish governance frameworks ensuring ethical and compliant AI practices.
  • Partnerships & Ecosystems: Build and manage partnerships with universities, startups, and technology providers.
  • Organizational Leadership: Build, mentor, and retain a world-class team while embedding AI fluency across the organization.
  • Market Engagement & Evangelism: Represent Labcorp’s AI vision at conferences and industry events.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field with 15+ years of experience in technology strategy, digital transformation, or innovation leadership; at least 7 years in senior leadership within AI/ML-driven environments.

Preferred Qualifications

Master’s degree (MBA, MS in Data Science, AI, UX, or Healthcare Innovation) and experience within a CRO, healthcare provider, or diagnostics organization.

Skills & Competencies

  • Proven success in leading enterprise strategy and transformation programs.
  • Experience scaling AI/ML operations, governance, and product ecosystems.
  • Ability to manage large vendor and partner networks.
  • Strong executive presence and communication skills.
  • Familiarity with healthcare regulatory frameworks (FDA, HIPAA, GDPR).
  • Hands-on experience with advanced computing and analytics platforms.

Working Conditions & Benefits

This role offers hybrid and flexible work options with preference for candidates near Labcorp’s innovation hubs. Compensation includes a salary range of $200-300k, an annual bonus under the Labcorp Bonus Plan, and comprehensive benefits for eligible employees.
