What You’ll Do

As a Drupal Engineer at ICF, you will be a key contributor in the creation of Drupal sites that are fully compliant with standards for design, accessibility, security, and performance. You will write automated tests that support the delivery of quality software and contribute to the client, ICF, and Drupal engineering communities. This role involves working directly with stakeholders and team members to set and manage expectations throughout the life of the project, operating within an an agile development process.

Requirements

Candidates for this role must have 3+ years of experience building secure, accessible, and responsive Drupal solutions, including module development, theming, and migrations. It is essential to reside in the US, be authorized to work in the US, and perform all work within the US.

What You’ll Bring

You should bring 3+ years of experience building secure, accessible, and responsive Drupal solutions, encompassing module development, theming, and migrations. A basic command of Drush and Composer is required, along with a solid understanding of the fundamental technologies of the web: HTTP, SSL, HTML, CSS, JavaScript, and JSON. A general understanding of containerization, strong oral and written communication skills, and a strong sense of ownership and engagement are also crucial.

Nice to Have

  • Familiarity working in and with Cloud technologies like AWS, Pantheon, or Acquia
  • Familiarity with PHP frameworks such as Symfony, Laravel, and CakePHP

About The Role

In this Drupal Engineer role, you’ll be responsible for the hands-on design, development, implementation, and maintenance of the CMS platform and associated web applications. This role involves both frontend and backend development, translating product requirements and design specifications into clean, secure, and high-performance code. You will work as part of a collaborative team, partnering with the Product Manager to understand feature requirements and with the User Researcher and designers to implement user-friendly and accessible interfaces. Key activities include customizing CMS functionality, building integrations with other state systems, writing and executing unit tests, and participating in code reviews to ensure quality and consistency across the platform.
