Director, Government Contracts

Job Summary

The Director, Government Contracts is responsible for the strategic development and administration of contracts with State and Federal governments for Medicaid, Medicare, Marketplace, and other government-sponsored programs providing health care services to low income, uninsured, and other populations.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage the plan's State healthcare contracts and ensure compliance with program requirements.
• Oversee contract renewals and lead project teams to implement new standards.
• Chair committees and workgroups to fulfill contractual and regulatory obligations.
• Assess new State laws and regulations, and report findings.
• Supervise and develop department staff as subject matter experts.
• Coordinate responses to State healthcare agencies, regulators, and partners.
• Identify new business and bid opportunities for the plan.

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

• Experience in managed care environments.
• Strong knowledge of Medicaid policies and State Health Department laws.
• Proven supervisory or management experience (minimum 2 years).
• Ability to manage regulatory reporting and contractual compliance.
