ClearCaptions, a FCC-certified telephone captioning provider, is seeking a Data Steward to ensure the quality, integrity, and security of enterprise data assets. This role is remote and reports to the Director of Data Engineering.

Position Summary

The Data Steward is responsible for managing the quality and compliance of data across the organization, liaising between data owners, users, and IT teams. The role focuses on establishing single sources of truth, defining data standards, and maintaining regulatory and business compliance.

What You Will Do

• Identify critical data elements and maintain data inventory.
• Monitor, validate, and resolve data quality issues.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to align data requirements.
• Develop data dictionaries, metadata repositories, and business glossaries.
• Support automation of data validation and enrichment workflows.

Qualifications

Candidates should have a Master’s degree plus 5 years of relevant experience or a Bachelor’s degree plus 7 years in data stewardship, management, or governance roles. Proficiency with data governance tools (e.g., MS Purview, Collibra, Informatica), SQL, and data visualization platforms is required. Knowledge of data privacy regulations (GDPR, CCPA, HIPAA) and cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS preferred) is advantageous.

Excellent communication, strong organizational skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a remote environment are essential.

Physical Demands & Work Environment

This is a 100% remote position. Candidates should be prepared for extended periods of sitting, keyboarding, and screen viewing.

Compensation
