Work Description
As a Data Analytics Specialist - Part Time, you will support the Department of Energy (DOE), Office of International Affairs. This role is crucial for protecting federal investments from undue foreign influence and safeguarding energy security and technological advancement of the United States. Your work will focus on preventing actors who do not adhere to global scientific norms from acquiring sensitive knowledge and technology.
Strong candidates will demonstrate expertise in due diligence reviews related to research, technology, and economic security (RTES). This position involves analyzing and interpreting complex datasets to provide actionable insights for business decisions and strategic reporting to DOE leadership. The successful candidate must thrive in a fast-paced environment, taking initiative, tracking progress, and delivering practical, timely solutions.
Responsibilities
- Perform comprehensive due diligence reviews related to RTES.
- Analyze and interpret data to identify trends, patterns, and opportunities in RTES.
- Develop and implement data visualization solutions to effectively communicate findings.
- Utilize advanced analytics tools and programming skills to support decision-making and data interpretation, providing actionable insights.
- Design and consume APIs to integrate and manage various data sources.
- Prepare clear, concise reports and dashboards for stakeholders and leadership.
- Prepare detailed written deliverables documenting findings and recommendations.
- Develop and maintain strong interpersonal relationships with stakeholders.
Minimum Requirements
- 5+ years of relevant experience.
- Bachelor's degree.
- Ability to present complex data in a clear and actionable format.
- Demonstrated expertise in RTES-related risk analysis and due diligence.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Understanding of regulations and authorities related to the Department of Energy and RTES, including NSPM-33 and the CHIPS and Science Act.
- Experience using Excel, Power BI, Python, and other advanced data analysis tools.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for risk reporting and stakeholder engagement.
