Controls & Avionics Solutions
Within Controls & Avionics Solutions, you will contribute to defining and developing next-generation avionics, including fly-by-wire flight controls, full authority digital engine controls, and power management. This business, part of the Electronic Systems sector, leads in high-integrity controls for military and commercial aviation, with a focus on future growth. Core capabilities and future technologies encompass active controls, aftermarket services, aircraft electrification, autonomy, cabin systems, engine systems, and next-gen controls. This Business Analyst Intern position specifically supports aftermarket services, providing world-class support to up to 600 airlines and MROs globally throughout product lifecycles.
The Role: Business Analyst Intern
BAE Systems is seeking a Business Analyst Intern with experience in data visualization tools and an interest in the business lifecycle, customer relationship management (CRM), and operations optimization through data analysis, data modeling, and data management. The qualified candidate will have the opportunity to assist in the design and development of these capabilities and identify opportunities to support all phases of the business lifecycle.
Responsibilities Include But Are Not Limited To
- Identifying, quantifying, capturing, and/or modeling new business opportunities.
- Gathering, analyzing, and evaluating information on internal operations, customers, competitors, and market factors to enhance competitive advantage and operations.
- Advancing and implementing new tools for functions such as customer account management, winning business, and repair center optimization.
- Refining data utilization processes, including capture, cleaning, organization, and modeling.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
- Currently enrolled in, or recently a post-graduate (with good academic standing) for a Bachelor's or Master's degree in Analytics, Business, Mathematics (or other related fields), or a degree with an Analytics or Business minor/concentration.
- Experience using data visualization software such as PowerBI, Tableau, or Looker.
- Proficiency with data preparation and cleaning tools such as Alteryx or Tableau Prep.
- Skills in SQL and the MS Office suite of programs (MS Word, PowerPoint, and Excel).
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
- Experience using Python.
- Comfort with complex data relationships (ERD).
- Knowledge/experience with machine learning, time series analysis, and deep learning frameworks.
- Effective prompt engineering skills to leverage AI when necessary.
- Prior experience in the aerospace industry.
Pay Information
The full-time salary range for this role is $39,861 - $53,766. Please note that individual salaries are determined by various factors including business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, and candidate qualifications such as skills, education, and experience. Temporary employees are generally not eligible for BAE Systems benefits but can elect to participate in the 401(k) savings plan. Temporary employees working 20 hours per week are eligible for medical benefits, the employee assistance program, and business travel accident insurance.
