About the Role
Lenovo’s Intelligent Devices Group (IDG) is seeking a Senior UI Designer Design Systems to lead the creation, evolution, and stewardship of our cross-platform design system. This role ensures visual consistency, interaction clarity, and implementation precision across Lenovo’s portfolio. You will collaborate with designers, engineers, and product managers to develop pixel-perfect scalable UI components, define system guidelines and best practices, audit components, and support smooth design-to-code integration.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead development and maintenance of the design system.
- Collaborate with design and engineering for pixel-perfect UI implementations.
- Define guidelines, usage patterns, and best practices.
- Audit and refine components based on feedback and evolving requirements.
- Serve as primary contact for system onboarding and support.
- Ensure alignment between design intent and front-end execution.
- Advocate for system scalability, visual excellence, and thoughtful evolution.
Required Qualifications
- 8+ years in design systems or product design with strong systems focus.
- Proven experience managing and evolving large-scale design systems in Figma.
- Exceptional attention to detail in typography, spacing, layout, and interactions.
- Experience collaborating with cross-functional teams to deliver production-ready UI components.
- Bachelor's degree in Design or related field, or equivalent professional experience.
- Strong portfolio showcasing work and design skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Understanding of component logic, design tokens, accessibility, and responsive behavior.
- Excellent documentation, collaboration, and communication skills.
- Experience with multi-platform products across web, desktop, or device interfaces.
- Familiarity with design-to-code tools like Storybook, Chromatic, or Zeroheight.
- Basic knowledge of front-end technologies (HTML/CSS, React, Android, native frameworks).
- Experience scaling or modernizing existing design systems.
- Passion for mentoring on system usage and best practices.
- Experience building systems for global scale.
About the Team
You will join Lenovo’s global AI Ecosystems team, a multidisciplinary group shaping intelligent experiences across hardware and software. Reporting to the Director of Design, you will bring strategic clarity and design cohesion to Lenovo’s AI product vision. The team values precision, pragmatism, and user-centered innovation at scale.
Compensation & Work Arrangement
The base salary range is $140-170k with potential bonus/commission opportunities. The role is hybrid, based in Chicago, IL or Morrisville, NC with onsite presence 3 days per week.
