About The Role
We are seeking a Data & Analytics Specialist to support the execution and delivery of L.E.K.’s Real World Data (RWD) products and solutions, and future data and analytics offerings. This high-impact role will work within our growing Data & Analytics (D&A) team and collaborate with the Life Sciences and Healthcare sectors to deliver high-quality, insight-driven solutions built on robust methodology and reproducible analytics.
You will serve as a bridge between strategy consulting, analytics, and technology, delivering cutting-edge RWD analytics to internal stakeholders and external clients alike. You will work on analytically challenging problems such as identifying undiagnosed or misdiagnosed patient populations, mapping patient journeys across complex care pathways, and quantifying healthcare utilization and spend across settings of care. The role also involves building and applying predictive and machine learning models to support segmentation, forecasting, and scenario analysis using large-scale healthcare datasets. Across projects, you will turn complex, real-world data into clear, robust insights that directly inform high-stakes strategic decisions for healthcare and life sciences clients.
About The RWD Group
The Real-World Data (RWD) team at L.E.K. turns complex healthcare datasets into rigorous, decision-ready evidence for life sciences and healthcare clients. The team designs and executes a broad range on analytics using real-world data (e.g., claims, electronic health records, registries) to inform strategic and operational decisions across the healthcare ecosystem, applying epidemiology, biostatistics, and causal inference methods. Team members work end to end, from study design and data engineering through analysis, interpretation, and clear communication of insights to senior client stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary execution lead for RWD analyses in client engagements across healthcare and life sciences sectors, spanning methodology design, data preparation, analysis, and interpretation.
- Act as SME across common RWD use cases such as market sizing, patient journey analysis, health outcomes research, and descriptive and predictive analytics.
- Translate client questions and problem statements into clear analytical approaches, assumptions, and outputs.
- Produce client-ready outputs, including tables, exhibits, and written interpretations that clearly communicate analytical findings.
- Ensure analytical work meets the highest quality standards, including reproducibility, documentation, and methodological soundness.
- Contribute to analytical discussions with clients and consulting teams, including walkthroughs of methodology, assumptions, limitations, and interpretation of findings.
- Participate in proposals and client development efforts through analytical input, sample outputs, and methodological descriptions.
- Support scoping and planning of RWD analytics workstreams by estimating effort, defining data requirements, and identifying methodological considerations.
- Act as a day-to-day analytical point of contact for assigned projects, coordinating inputs and timelines with consulting teams.
- Educate other RWD or consulting colleagues on how to leverage healthcare data products via training sessions, emails, and 1–1 meetings as needed.
- Collaborate with and provide day-to-day guidance and technical support to rotational and offshore analysts, e.g., by reviewing analytical work, offering feedback to improve quality, efficiency, and analytical reasoning.
- Proactively identify analytical risks, tradeoffs, and scope creep, and recommend mitigation options to the Product Manager of Healthcare Analytics.
- Embed modern analytics methods (e.g., predictive modeling and other machine learning techniques) to enhance product capabilities.
- Directly contribute to the development of new playbooks and tools based on project experience and lessons learned to support repeatability across projects.
Experience & Skills
- 2-4 years of experience in analytics or consulting, with significant exposure to real world data and healthcare/life sciences use cases.
- Proficiency with tools and programming languages such as SQL, Python, R, modern data platforms (Snowflake, Databricks, AWS/Azure), and core machine learning skills (including generative AI and agentic workflows).
- Demonstrated ability to design, execute, and scale repeatable healthcare data analyses or analytical workflows across multiple projects or use cases.
- Ability to translate ambiguous business questions into structured analytical approaches, clear assumptions, and actionable outputs.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with experience working closely with consulting teams and presenting analytical findings to senior client stakeholders.
- Prior consulting experience in healthcare or life sciences, or direct experience working with real-world healthcare data, strongly preferred.
- Familiarity with common RWD sources (claims, EHR, registries) and healthcare coding standards (ICD, HCPCS, NDC, SNOMED, LOINC, etc.) is a plus.
Education
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in a relevant field such as Public Health, Life Sciences, Data Science, Biostatistics, Engineering, or Business.
Why Join L.E.K.?
- Drive the growth of a rapidly expanding data-driven capability in a top-tier strategy consulting firm.
- Collaborate with C-suite clients and life sciences innovators to deliver market-shaping insights.
