Job Summary: Zscaler Engineer at Leidos

Leidos is seeking an experienced Zscaler Engineer to actively support, maintain, optimize, and enhance an existing Zscaler cloud implementation for a significant Government Agency. This role demands extensive expertise in Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA) and Zscaler Private Access (ZPA) to ensure secure and seamless network connectivity within complex enterprise environments.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide ongoing operational support, maintenance, and engineering across the full Zscaler product suite, including ZIA, ZPA, ZDX, and ZCC.
• Configure and fine-tune Zscaler systems for optimal performance and effective alerting.
• Apply deep expertise to troubleshoot intricate networking and security issues specifically related to Zscaler deployments.
• Offer expert guidance on all aspects of Zscaler network and security capabilities to the customer.
• Ensure stringent compliance with security standards, policies, and best practices for IT systems and data protection.
• Collaborate with diverse cross-functional teams to seamlessly integrate Zscaler with existing network infrastructure, firewalls, external vendors, and server environments.
• Develop and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including detailed network diagrams and security policies.
• Train and mentor internal teams on Zscaler best practices and secure configuration strategies.
• Interface directly with Zscaler Technical Support to create and resolve complex issues efficiently.
• Assist in the strategic design and practical implementation of Zero Trust Network Access (ZTNA) solutions using Zscaler technologies.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree and 8+ years of experience in network security, cloud security, or related fields. (Additional years of experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree).
• At least 2 years of hands-on experience with Zscaler deployments in a professional support capacity.
• Proven experience deploying and operating Zscaler ZIA, ZTA, ZPA, and ZDX for large enterprises.
• Deep understanding of Zscaler Internet Access (ZIA), Zscaler Private Access (ZPA), and Zscaler Client Connector.
• Experience with the deployment and management of App Connectors and Branch Connectors.
• Familiarity with Zscaler’s cloud architecture and comprehensive security services.
• Strong knowledge of fundamental networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, DNS, etc.).
• Solid foundational knowledge in network and cybersecurity principles.
• Familiarity with leading cloud service providers (AWS, Azure, Google Cloud).
• Understanding of Trusted Internet Connections (TIC) concepts.
• Fundamental knowledge of MPLS and WAN routing principles.
• Fundamental knowledge of IPv4 and IPv6 protocols.
• Comprehensive understanding of Zero Trust principles and Secure Web Gateway (SWG) architectures.
• Ability to work effectively both within a team and autonomously on demanding projects.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a public trust clearance.

Desirable Skills and Certifications

• Zscaler Digital Transformation Administrator (ZDTA) certification.
• Zscaler Digital Transformation Engineer (ZDTE) certification.
• Zscaler Digital Experience Administrator (ZDXA) certification.
• Proficiency with automation and scripting tools such as Python, Ansible, and Terraform.
• Network and Security Certifications are a significant plus.
