The Health & Services Sector at Leidos currently has an opening for a Section 508 Tester. The customer is primarily located in the Washington DC area but the position is telework. This is an exciting opportunity to help shape the future technology roadmap for a large government agency.

Responsibilities

In this role, the Section 508 Tester will primarily support accessibility compliance efforts by evaluating applications and systems to ensure adherence to Section 508 standards and accessibility guidelines. Responsibilities include, but not limited to:

• Requirements Gathering & Analysis: Collaborate with business analysts and stakeholders to understand, gather, and document business requirements.
• Application Design & Development: Design, configure, and build Pega applications, including case management, workflows, user interfaces, and business logic using Pega tools (App Studio, Dev Studio).
• System Integration: Implement integration points with databases, web services (REST/SOAP), and legacy systems to ensure seamless data flow and functionality.
• Testing & Quality Assurance: Perform unit and integration testing, debug applications, and support system testing and user acceptance testing (UAT) to ensure solutions meet quality standards and performance requirements.
• Documentation & Maintenance: Create and maintain documentation of application design, configurations, and system changes. Provide ongoing support, troubleshoot technical issues, and enhance existing workflows.
• Best Practices & Collaboration: Ensure all work adheres to Pega development best practices and guardrails, and actively participate in team meetings and Agile/Scrum methodologies.

Basic Required Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience (~4-6 relevant applicable working experience) and 3–5+ years of experience in accessibility testing or QA. Applicable experience considered includes, but not limited to a good combination in areas of the following:

• Performing accessibility testing of applications using automated and manual tools
• Identifying and documenting accessibility issues based on Section 508 and WCAG standards
• Supporting remediation efforts by working with development teams
• Validating fixes and ensuring compliance with accessibility requirements
• Preparing accessibility compliance reports and documentation
• Collaboration with QA and development teams to integrate accessibility into testing processes
• Knowledge of Section 508 and WCAG 2.0/2.1 standards
• Experience with Accessibility testing tools (e.g., JAWS, NVDA, Axe, Wave)
• Understanding of HTML, CSS, and UI components

This role will require successful completion of Public Trust (MBI)
