Journeyman Geospatial Analyst at Leidos

The Software, Simulation, and Systems Engineering (S3E) Portfolio at Leidos is actively seeking a Journeyman Geospatial Analyst to contribute to contracts focused on GEOINT data production for the National Geospatial Intelligence Agency. This role is crucial for providing geospatial intelligence support across various offices and agencies through geospatial products, analysis, engineering, and services. It's an excellent opportunity for a candidate with strong technical experience and existing skillsets to create geospatial products that inform decision-makers for analysis, planning, execution, and in-theater operations for the Warfighter, ensuring mission success.

This position offers remote work flexibility, with a preference for candidates located in the Northern Virginia or St. Louis, MO areas.

Primary Responsibilities

  • Support the analysis of satellite imagery to perform feature data collection and quality control of geospatial feature data production products.
  • Perform Extract/Transform/Load (ETL) operations, including mapping table generation.
  • Interact daily with supervisors and/or functional peer groups.
  • Utilize Microsoft Office products, including Excel and Access.
  • Demonstrate strong technical and leadership abilities.

Basic Qualifications

  • High School diploma and 1-3 years of prior experience in a related field.
  • US Citizen required.
  • 3-6 years of experience with ArcGIS, preferably ArcGIS Pro, and a solid understanding of feature data, cartographic products, photo interpretation, and vector data editing.
  • Experience performing feature extraction and photo interpretation, with knowledge in one or more of the following feature data schemas: TDS, GGDM, UFD, GIFD, DFEG, TFEG, MGCP TRD, MUVD, FACC.
  • Working knowledge of AAFIF/DVOF/Geonames and their quality control over imagery.
  • Proficiency with GAIT and/or QAC.
  • Ability to train staff in GIS fundamentals.
  • Capacity to adapt quickly to new tools and provide ideas for new data processing tools.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Geography with 2+ years of relevant experience.
  • Experience in the review and development of multiple data schemas and formats.
  • Proficiency in Python, C#, or Java.
  • Experience with databases such as PostgreSQL or SpatiaLite.
