Position Overview
The Human Language Technology Developer at Leidos will perform day-to-day HLT tasks as part of a large language services program. This role focuses on integrating and refreshing HLT solutions while ensuring alignment with program, corporate, and customer technical requirements.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop applications and/or APIs to improve workflow and integrate new resources into existing HLT tools.
- Design bespoke technical solutions for challenging or unfamiliar data types.
- Research, develop, evaluate, and integrate HLT capabilities.
- Provide technical leadership to cross-functional teams developing AI and HLT solutions.
- Analyze language processing needs and recommend innovative, cost-effective solutions.
- Innovate, prototype and execute initiatives to expand HLT solutions.
- Convey complex ideas to non-technical audiences through briefings and white papers.
- Lead projects or small teams to solve complex HLT problems.
- Mentor new program employees and ensure quality translation, interpretation, and transcription support.
Basic Qualifications
Active TS/SCI with Polygraph clearance along with a relevant degree and significant experience. Proficiency in IC translation fundamentals, deep learning (PyTorch/TensorFlow), programming languages (Java, Python, C++), and machine learning frameworks (NLTK, SpaCy) is essential. Experience with cloud computing and container technologies is also required.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience in greenfield software development, API building, training machine translation models, and modifying open-source code is advantageous.

Pay Range
The salary for this position ranges from $92,300 to $166,850. Actual compensation is based on education, experience, and other relevant factors.
