The Opportunity: Index Junior Analyst - Analytics and Technology

Due to internal progression and the growth of the Index team, Legal & General is seeking an Index Junior Analyst - Analytics and Technology. This varied role offers significant exposure to various internal teams within L&G Asset Management. You will be instrumental in supporting and implementing development on in-house fund management tools, assisting Fund Managers and Senior Fund Managers in fund management.

What You'll Be Doing:

• Providing support and carrying out development on in-house fund management tools for Fund Managers.
• Participating in ad-hoc quantitative and qualitative research; preparing investment report materials.
• Assisting with corporate action analysis and recommending appropriate actions.
• Supporting client servicing, including responding to requests and preparing presentation materials.
• Producing regular reports: fund holding, attribution, and risk reports.
• Assisting with analyses of portfolio breakdowns, transfers, index construction, and changes.
• Analysing and attributing portfolio performance.
• Automating processes and proactively solving issues for internal stakeholders.

Who We're Looking For:

We are seeking candidates with proven programming skills, ideally in Python, and a keen interest in investment management. While previous experience in investment management or finance is preferable, we encourage applications from those with strong programming backgrounds from other industries. A demonstrable knowledge of various asset classes, with a focus on index strategies, is advantageous.

• Proven knowledge of Python or demonstrable experience with another coding language is essential.
• Previous experience in Investment Management or finance is preferable.
• Demonstrable knowledge of a variety of asset classes; index focus preferred.
• Creative problem-solver, able to identify issues and create solutions.
• Experience developing processes to improve/support client requests is advantageous.
• Proactive learner, keen to develop.
• Experience reviewing or evaluating index strategies and/or benchmarks.
