About Learnyst

We are building Shopify for education, aiming to make quality education affordable, easily accessible, and engaging. We empower educators to teach online and sell courses via their own websites and mobile apps. Learnyst is looking for Backend Engineers to build and scale its backend servers.

We provide a complete technology solution for educators to launch their online academies, which includes a website builder, course builder, virtual classroom interface, video encryption, and streaming service – essentially everything needed to run an online learning academy.

Learnyst is hosted on GCP cloud with an auto-scaling infrastructure. Over 50 lakh learners utilize Learnyst for streaming course videos and taking mock tests. Our core backend server leverages Ruby on Rails with MySQL as the database. We have architected Learnyst to be a fault-tolerant, loosely coupled, and scalable system.

Key Responsibilities

• Be a core team member, contributing to important features.
• Design and build new features from the ground up.
• Possess 0-2 years of solid experience in building large-scale applications.
• Demonstrate strong working knowledge of Ruby on Rails.
• Experience in handling infrastructure and scaling on GCP is essential.
• Showcase coding skills through any project on GitHub.
• Solid knowledge of SQL and MySQL database.
• Eager to learn and passionate about work, with excellent listening and problem-understanding skills.
• Exhibit a strong sense of ownership and willingness to go the extra mile.
• Make sound decisions and discover practical solutions for complex problems.
• Be honest and consistently deliver strong performance.
• Capable of working with tight, yet realistic, deadlines.
• Understand product strategy, market dynamics, and customer needs.

Interview Process

After the initial screening, shortlisted candidates will be invited for an in-office (offline) technical interview at our office. Interview Dates: 17th February – 24th February (Weekdays). Exact location details will be shared with shortlisted candidates.
