Overview

We are seeking a Staff QA Automation Engineer to drive the vision and strategy for quality engineering across LeanData. This senior individual contributor role combines deep technical expertise with cross-team influence.

What You’ll Be Doing

The successful candidate will:

  • Define and evolve the company-wide QA automation strategy with a focus on Playwright (TypeScript/JavaScript).
  • Architect scalable, reusable, and maintainable frameworks supporting UI, API, integration, and end-to-end testing.
  • Partner with QA leadership to define and evangelize QA automation best practices.
  • Lead the integration of automation into CI/CD pipelines and influence release engineering practices.
  • Mentor Senior SDETs and QA Engineers, fostering next generation automation leaders.
  • Contribute to a long-term quality roadmap reducing risk and accelerating release velocity.

Requirements

Candidates must have:

  • 5+ years of experience in QA Automation / SDET roles.
  • Deep expertise with Playwright and strong programming skills in TypeScript/JavaScript.
  • Proven track record in designing scalable automation frameworks.
  • Experience integrating automation into complex CI/CD pipelines and cloud environments.
  • Solid understanding of various testing strategies and SQL for backend testing.
  • Exceptional communication and collaboration skills.

Bonus Points

  • Knowledge of AWS services and/or Salesforce.
  • Familiarity with Java.
