About Lazo

Lazo is building a tech-enabled back office for startups operating across the U.S, combining software + human expertise. At Lazo, we’re growing fast and looking for a key addition to our Tax team: someone who can help us bring structure, unblock processes, and ensure everything is ready before tax preparation begins. This role is ideal for someone highly organized, proactive, and interested in getting exposure to the tax world from an operational perspective.

What will you be doing?

Your main goal will be to ensure clients are “ready to prep” — meaning all information is complete, organized, and ready for the technical team to work efficiently. You’ll act as a key link between clients, the bookkeeping team, and the tax team.

Key responsibilities

  • Request, follow up, and unblock information from clients and internal teams
  • Manage tasks and documentation across our platforms
  • Validate that the information received is complete and consistent (non-technical review)
  • Maintain direct communication with clients (platform + email)
  • Coordinate compliance-related processes with clients:
    • Collect information for FBAR
    • Manage 1099 workflows
    • Prepare documentation such as W-9 or W-8, depending on the case
  • Ensure everything is ready for the Tax team to move forward
  • Keep client information up to date across systems
