About the Role
We are seeking an experienced Equity Research Analyst in the Technology sector to join our team and focus on Software and Internet names – primarily the service providers and hyperscalers.
Teamwork and Research Process
Teamwork is at the foundation of Lazard Asset Management. The team’s disciplined process puts strong emphasis on primary research. The insight generated from the research process is communicated throughout the team and leveraged across LAM’s portfolios. Stock picking is based on a disciplined relative valuation process. As an Analyst, our team approach will allow you to benefit from the insight of your peers while being responsible and accountable for your individual insight and contributions to the team and portfolios.
Key Responsibilities
- Demonstrate genuine enthusiasm for technology and innovation by continuously exploring and understanding emerging trends and their potential impact on the sector.
- Develop primary research sources and actively engage with industry contacts by attending conferences, speaking with company management, and participating in earnings calls.
- Conduct fundamental research and analyze the financials of companies you’re covering.
- Ask the right questions and challenge assumptions, ensuring a thorough and nuanced understanding of each investment opportunity.
- Effectively convey your findings and recommendations in writing, presentations, and while interacting with portfolio managers.
- Build and maintain valuation models and comparable company analysis.
- Quantify the risk/reward and timeliness of investment ideas.
- Analyze sector, currency, political, and regulatory risks.
- Demonstrate passion for and distinguished knowledge of your sector.
Qualifications
- 15 or more years’ experience as an equity research analyst covering application software and internet giants like Google, Adobe, Meta, Oracle, Amazon, and ServiceNow (and many others).
- Experience committing capital as a buy-side investor.
- Exceptional financial modeling and fundamental analysis abilities.
- A meticulous, bottoms-up, primary research-driven evaluation process.
- Excellent interpersonal, communication and relationship-building skills.
- Expert understanding of the Technology sector and its attributed risk factors and dependencies.
- Desire to improve and contribute to our Equity research platform.
- CFA Preferred.

Compensation
We expect the base salary range for this role to be approximately $200,000 - $250,000 USD. Various factors contribute to determining the actual base compensation offered, including but not limited to the applicant’s years of relevant experience, career tenure, qualifications, level of education attained, certifications or other professional licenses held, relevant skills for the role. Base salary is one component of Lazard Asset Management’s compensation package, which also includes comprehensive benefits and may include incentive compensation.
