Position Description:

The Mechanical Assembler at LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. will be responsible for the assembly of fabricated and electrical components, subassemblies, and miscellaneous enclosures. This role is very detail-oriented and requires preparing, positioning, assembling, and verifying parts that go into creating our products. The Mechanical Assembler must have mechanical and technical skills for this position.

Responsibilities:

  • Interpret instructions such as work orders, diagrams, wire lists, and verbal directions.
  • Fabrication and installation of flexibar as required.
  • Installation of larger power wires; inclusive of retrieving, crimp lugging and heat sleeve shrinking.
  • Inspection of parts, materials, and assemblies to comply with quality standards.
  • Properly communicate/document with supervision as required.
  • Become familiar with interpreting 3-D solid model viewers.

Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Assembly in a manufacturing environment or transferable mechanical experience.
  • Ability to read assembly drawings and follow directions.
  • Ability to use hand tools & wire crimpers.
  • Ability to handle intricate parts.
  • Pass a background check and drug screen.
  • Reliable attendance and respectful of others.
  • Positive attitude.

Preferred:

  • Electrical assembly experience.
  • Excellent documentation skills.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Ability to navigate an array of computer programs.

Physical Requirements:

  • Able to lift heavy parts up to 30 lbs.
  • Must stand for up to eight-hour shifts.
  • Must bend, squat, kneel, or climb as needed.
  • Reach above and forward at least 18 inches.
  • Possess hand dexterity for small hardware installation.
  • Good vision for part and assembly inspection.

Schedule (1st Shift):

Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, ½ hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid breaks.
