Position Description:
The Mechanical Assembler at LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. will be responsible for the assembly of fabricated and electrical components, subassemblies, and miscellaneous enclosures. This role is very detail-oriented and requires preparing, positioning, assembling, and verifying parts that go into creating our products. The Mechanical Assembler must have mechanical and technical skills for this position.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret instructions such as work orders, diagrams, wire lists and verbal directions to determine materials needed in sequencing assembly of given product
- Fabrication and installation of flexibar as required
- Installation of larger power wires; inclusive of retrieving, crimp lugging and heat sleeve shrinking
- Inspection of parts, materials and assemblies to comply with company quality standards
- Properly communicating/documenting with supervision as required in the position
- Become familiar with interpreting 3-D solid model viewers
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Assembly in a manufacturing environment or transferrable mechanical experience
- Must have the ability to read assembly drawings and follow direction
- Ability to use hand tools & wire crimpers
- Ability to handle intricate parts
- Pass a background check and drug screen
- Reliable attendance
- Respectful of others
- Positive attitude
Preferred:
- Electrical assembly experience
- Excellent documentation skills
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to navigate an array of computer programs
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and handle heavy parts up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended time periods, up to the entire eight-hour shift
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, or climb a stepladder while working
- Must be able to reach above and forward at least 18 inches
- Must possess hand dexterity and install small hardware
- Must have good vision to inspect parts and assemblies
Schedule (1st Shift):
Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, ½ hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid breaks
