Position Description:
The Mechanical Assembler at LayerZero Power Systems will be responsible for the assembly of fabricated and electrical components, subassemblies, and miscellaneous enclosures. This role is very detail-oriented and requires preparing, positioning, assembling, and verifying parts that go into creating our products. The Mechanical Assembler must have mechanical and technical skills for this position. LayerZero is looking for a knowledgeable, team-oriented worker with dexterity to join our team.
Responsibilities:
- Interpret instructions such as work orders, diagrams, wire lists and verbal directions to determine materials needed in sequencing assembly of given product.
- Fabrication and installation of flexibar as required.
- Installation of larger power wires; inclusive of retrieving, crimp lugging and heat sleeve shrinking.
- Inspection of parts, materials and assemblies to comply with company quality standards.
- Properly communicating/documenting with supervision as required in the position.
- Become familiar with interpreting 3-D solid model viewers.
Requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Assembly in a manufacturing environment or transferrable mechanical experience.
- Must have the ability to read assembly drawings and follow direction.
- Ability to use hand tools & wire crimpers.
- Ability to handle intricate parts.
- Pass a background check and drug screen.
- Reliable attendance.
- Respectful of others.
- Positive attitude.
Preferred:
- Electrical assembly experience.
- Excellent documentation skills.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to navigate an array of computer programs.
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift and handle heavy parts up to 30 lbs.
- Must be able to stand for extended time periods, up to the entire eight-hour shift.
- Must be able to bend, squat, kneel, or climb a stepladder while working.
- Must be able to reach above and forward at least 18 inches.
- Must possess hand dexterity and install small hardware.
- Must have good vision to inspect parts and assemblies.
Schedule (1st Shift):
Monday-Friday 6:00 am to 2:30 pm, ½ hour unpaid lunch, 2 paid breaks.
