Position Description

The Mechanical Assembler - 1st Shift at LayerZero Power Systems, Inc. is responsible for the assembly of fabricated and electrical components, subassemblies, and miscellaneous enclosures. The role requires meticulous attention to detail, mechanical aptitude, and technical skills.

Responsibilities

• Interpret work orders, diagrams, wire lists, and verbal directions.
• Fabricate and install flexibar as required.
• Install larger power wires including retrieving, crimp lugging, and heat sleeve shrinking.
• Inspect parts and assemblies to ensure quality standards.
• Communicate and document with supervision properly.
• Learn to use 3-D solid model viewers.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Assembly or transferrable mechanical experience in manufacturing.
• Ability to read assembly drawings and follow instructions.
• Proficiency with hand tools and wire crimpers.
• Capability to handle intricate parts and pass background checks.

Preferred

• Electrical assembly experience.
• Excellent documentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Familiarity with various computer programs.

Physical Requirements

• Lift and handle parts up to 30 lbs.
• Stand for up to an eight-hour shift.
• Bend, squat, kneel, or climb as required.
• Reach above and forward at least 18 inches.
• Possess good vision and hand dexterity.

Schedule (1st Shift)

Monday-Friday, 6:00 am to 2:30 pm with a ½ hour unpaid lunch and 2 paid breaks.
