Position Overview: User Experience Writer
LawDepot.com is expanding and seeking a User Experience (UX) Writer in Edmonton, Alberta. In this full-time permanent role (37.5 hours/week, office or hybrid), you will create interactive web products and services that are helpful, easy to understand, and a pleasure to use for our 24 million+ yearly visitors. A primary responsibility includes improving product usability by refining the structure and readability of interactive questionnaires.
Primary Responsibilities
- Develop interactive product questionnaires for customized legal documents.
- Write and edit text to simplify legal document creation for users.
- Collaborate with Legal, Design, Development, and QA to create powerful, conversion-optimized web products.
- Gather and analyze quantitative and qualitative data to identify problem areas and improvement opportunities.
- Implement and explore new best practices for web products.
- Utilize internal tools for high-standard specification implementation.
- Conduct product research and user testing for questionnaire improvements.
- Develop innovative strategies for increasing user engagement and retention.
- Continuously develop skills in user experience optimization and digital marketing.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
- Post-secondary education in Communications, Marketing, Law, Business, Library Science, or relevant fields.
- Technical writing experience (asset).
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Experience with conversion rate optimization and A/B testing.
- Ability to communicate complex information succinctly.
- Understanding of conversion optimization, consumer psychology, and online marketing.
- Ability to effectively provide and receive feedback.
- Self-driven, able to work independently and collaboratively.
- Ability to identify opportunities and suggest new ideas.
- Quality decision making and sound judgment.
- Ability to learn, work with, and troubleshoot various technologies.
- Knowledge of law and legal matters (asset).
- Working knowledge of UX best practices (asset).
- Software development knowledge (asset).
- Bilingual in French, German, or Spanish (asset).
