Intellectual Property Paralegal - Remote Contract Opportunity
Latitude Legal is seeking an experienced Intellectual Property (IP) Paralegal for a part-time, contract role supporting a biotechnology client. This remote position is ideal for a highly organized and detail-oriented legal professional experienced in managing patent, trademark, and copyright portfolios. Responsibilities Of IP Paralegal
- Support the preparation, filing, and management of U.S. and international trademark, patent, and copyright applications and related documents.
- Monitor and maintain IP docketing systems, including deadlines for filings, renewals, office actions, and maintenance fees.
- Assist attorneys with intellectual property prosecution and portfolio management matters.
- Draft routine legal correspondence, forms, reports, and supporting documentation.
- Coordinate communications with the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO), foreign associates, clients, inventors, and internal teams regarding filings and status updates.
- Organize and maintain electronic and physical case files, records, and legal documentation.
- Track invoices, filing fees, and vendor communications related to intellectual property matters.
- Assist attorneys with administrative support tasks including scheduling, document management, and client reporting.
- Conduct basic legal and intellectual property-related research as needed.
- Support additional legal and administrative projects as assigned.
Requirements Of IP Paralegal
- 2+ years experience in an in-house paralegal or intellectual property support role.
- Experience with patent prosecution and/or trademark portfolio management.
- Knowledge of international IP filing procedures and foreign associate coordination.
- Strong organizational skills with exceptional attention to detail and deadline management.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced legal environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining confidentiality and professionalism.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and legal document management systems.
- Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred and/or Paralegal Certificate from an ABA-approved program.

Compensation
- Pay: Annualized pay ranges from $75,000 to $125,000 (prorated for part-time).
