GTM Engineer

About the Role

We are seeking a GTM Engineer who will act as the "First Customer" for LangChain's tools. In this role, you will build AI-native systems that power our technical support, onboarding, and customer success engines. Your primary goal is to drive massive case deflection and deliver a premium onboarding experience by developing autonomous agents that proactively solve complex technical problems, minimizing the need for human intervention. This position is ideal for a builder-operator who can identify customer journey friction points and implement production-grade agentic solutions.

You Will

• Architect Customer Agents: Design and deploy production-grade agents using LangGraph and LangSmith to effectively handle technical support queries, troubleshoot integrations, and guide users through intricate onboarding processes.
• Drive Case Deflection: Analyze critical customer friction points and construct self-service AI systems that significantly reduce support volume while simultaneously enhancing the overall customer experience.
• Own the Domain: Serve as both the product owner and the technical expert, proactively identifying improvement opportunities, proposing robust architectures, and managing the complete lifecycle of the systems you develop.
• Dogfood the Stack: Act as a vital member of the feedback loop for our product team. As you build sophisticated systems for our customers, you will identify gaps within our frameworks and contribute directly to the LangChain and LangGraph open-source ecosystems.
• Build Onboarding Workflows: Develop innovative "AI-native onboarding" experiences that accelerate the transition of enterprise customers from prototypes to production by automating documentation retrieval and code generation.

What we are looking for

• AI-Native Developer: A deep understanding of the LLM stack, including prompting, retrieval augmented generation (RAG), cognitive architectures, and agentic loops. Prior experience with LangChain or LangGraph is highly desirable.
• Engineering Foundation: A strong software engineer, typically with 3+ years of experience, including at least 1 year specifically shipping LLM systems into production environments.
• Self-Directed "Founder" Mentality: The ability to proactively identify and address problems without explicit direction. You are comfortable navigating ambiguity, pinpointing high-impact issues, and autonomously driving them to successful completion.
• Full-Stack Capability: Excellent coding skills in Python or TypeScript (ideally proficiency in both) and the capacity to build comprehensive, end-to-end applications.
• Customer-Centric: A passion for combining high-level engineering with direct customer impact, capable of translating complex technical pain points into scalable system architectures.

Nice to Haves

• Expertise with LangSmith for comprehensive evaluation and monitoring.
• Experience building or maintaining open-source projects.
• A professional background in technical consulting, solutions engineering, or high-growth Go-to-Market (GTM) teams.

Compensation

LangChain offers competitive compensation, including a base salary, meaningful equity, and a comprehensive benefits package. Benefits include medical, dental, and vision coverage, flexible vacation, a 401(k) plan, and life insurance. The salary range for this position is $160,000 to $180,000.
