Job Summary
Langan is seeking a Junior to Intermediate Civil Engineer to join its collaborative team in Calgary, AB. Reporting directly to the Site/Civil Lead in the Calgary office, this individual will play a key role in the planning, design, and permitting of land/community development and infrastructure projects. This position offers significant career growth opportunities, working alongside the Site/Civil Lead on diverse projects including residential, mixed-use, commercial, industrial, and institutional developments in a continuous learning environment.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist the Site/Civil Lead in all aspects of project work, including project delivery and client service.
- Prepare proposals and fee estimates for various projects.
- Draft and modify engineering documents such as reports, memos, specifications, plans, construction schedules, and cost estimates.
- Develop design plans for projects utilizing engineering and design software like AutoCAD and Civil 3D.
- Coordinate with approving authorities to secure necessary permit approvals.
- Collaborate effectively with team members on project tasks and assignments.
- Perform other job duties as requested to support project needs.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering.
- EIT designation with APEGA; P. Eng. designation with APEGA is preferred.
- 3+ years of prior relevant professional experience in site/civil design, encompassing site planning, grading, utility design, stormwater management, and erosion and sediment control.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong attention to detail complemented by excellent analytical, multitasking, and judgment capabilities.
- Demonstrated ability to follow direction and thrive in a collaborative team environment.
