About the Role of Principal Engineer - Robotics/Mechatronics
Our client, a leader in Business Services, is seeking a Principal Engineer - Robotics/Mechatronics to join their innovative team. In this pivotal role, you will be instrumental in building and maintaining cutting-edge systems that power mission-critical Business Services workflows. You will collaborate closely with product managers and fellow engineers to design clean, scalable solutions, demonstrating a strong commitment to craftsmanship, impact, and ownership. This position is open to remote US-based candidates, though a willingness to work on-site in Niskayuna, NY, is required.
Compensation for this role ranges from $131,700 to $219,300 annually.
Responsibilities
- Serve as a technical leader within a multidisciplinary team dedicated to advancing robotics and autonomy.
- Prototype and validate Robotics solutions tailored for real-world applications in Business Services.
- Collaborate effectively with engineers and product managers to refine project requirements and optimize processes.
- Shape the technical vision and lead the strategic direction for Robotics initiatives with senior leadership.
- Develop and manage the intellectual property strategy, supported by rigorous data analysis for patents.
- Mentor colleagues across various technical and business domains, fostering growth and expertise.
- Establish collaborative partnerships with academia, national labs, and industry stakeholders to amplify research impact.
Qualifications
- A Doctorate in Engineering, Computer Science, or a related discipline with a minimum of 7+ years of relevant experience.
- A proven record of innovation, evidenced by peer-reviewed publications in Robotics.
- Demonstrated expertise in project execution and effective teamwork across diverse functional areas.
- Strong leadership experience within multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to work on-site in Niskayuna, NY.
- Unrestricted work authorization in the U.S. is required; no visa sponsorship is available.
